Freddy Superlano, a deputy of the National Assembly, has blamed the deaths of five children at Luis Razetti Hospital in Barinas, owing to errors in oxygen supply.

"We regret this fact and we believe that it is impermissible that these horrible events occur, as well as those that occurred within 15 hours that the hospital is free of oxygen, due to the delay in paying the company providing the service," said the parliamentarian .

Superlano explained that it still needs to be confirmed if adults died.

The Deputy stressed that neither Argenis Chávez, the Governor of the State of Barinas, nor the health authorities explained what had happened in the hospital.

The politician said that the hospital does not have enough portable oxygen cylinders to care for patients.

Superlano said that most oxygen tanks were stolen and that those who remain do not work because they do not have manometers.

The MP asked the authorities to discuss the matter and report that he will ask the Parliament's healthcare commission to investigate the incident.
