The Samsung W2019 offers state-of-the-art technology based on the S9 Series that is available from the beginning of the year, but, as in previous years, it is likely to bring a preview of the next series of top smartphones in the Galaxy S. So we can see the configuration here, at least the camera, which will ultimately be on the Samsung Galaxy S10.
W2019: Samsung has re-released its luxurious foldable phone
Like last year's Samsung W2018, the new W2019 also has two 4.2-inch displays, each built on the inside and outside of the lid. Both are very high resolution with 1920 x 1080 pixels and each uses SuperAMOLED screens from Samsung's own production. Unlike most other current Samsung devices, the classic Android buttons in the form of capacitive buttons are still under the external display.
Inside the operation, either through a touch screen or via a hardware keyboard, which essentially serves to ease the difficulty of typing Chinese characters on touch devices. In addition to the buttons "Back", "Multi-function", "Home" and "Copy", which are executed as machine buttons, there is a multidode D-pad with an additional button in the middle.
Current cutting-edge technology in curious form
The W2019 is based on the current Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Octacore SoC, a high-quality SoC, which is also available in various other top smartphones in 2018 and reached 2.8 gigahertz. It is built with six gigabytes of memory and 128 or 256 GB of internal flash memory based on UFS 2.1 standard and can be expanded with a microSD card slot.
A small look at the future with the Galaxy S10 series is likely to offer the last camera unit W2019. There are two more 12 megapixel sensors, one of them having a variable aperture (F / 1.5 – F / 2.4). This is now called "Smart Iris" (Google translation) and it should probably automatically select the correct aperture size using artificial intelligence. Obviously this could not be explained by the lack of knowledge of Chinese.
What is certain is that the dual-camera Samsung W2019 offers dual-optical zoom and can record 4K videos at up to 60 fps. Here is also an optical image stabilizer, which is implemented in hardware. Other features include Bluetooth 4.2, two-band Gigabit Wi-Fi, NFC and USB-C ports. The fingerprint reader sits on the side of the casing, but Samsung disconnects the headphone jack as it was in the previous year.
We talk about USB-C: USB 3.1 Gen1, which is used for charging, of course, it uses a battery with a capacity of 3070 mAh. All the great technology of both screens and a large battery together with a metal frame guarantee a very large weight of huge 257 grams. When folded, the W2019 is proud of 17.3 millimeters thick.
The operating system is still in use with Android 8.1 "Oreo", as Samsung uses a highly customized format. Interestingly, the luxury of Klapphandy was sold together with a special subscription that, on request, gives demanding owners, a car with a driver or other assistance tasks. Samsung W2019 costs 18,999 yuan in China, equivalent to 2410 euros or 2730 US dollars.
