22 people were taken to hospital after accident between bus and car on Jurong Island highway



Singapore: 22 people were taken to hospital after a car and a bus collided on Jurang Island Highway on Sunday morning (December 6).

The Singapore Civil Defense Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to a road traffic accident along Jurong Island highway at 7pm Sunday.

The accident happened towards the end of the highway, said the police.

21 bus passengers, all people, were taken to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital (NTFGH), Singapore General Hospital (SGH) and National University Hospital (NUH), police said.

The driver of the car, a 42-year-old man, was also unconscious when he was taken to NUH.

All of them were conscious when they were taken to hospital, police said.

SCDF said eight people were taken to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, 11 people in Nuh and three people in SGA.

Video circulating on social media showed a bus topped on its side and the front half of the car crashed.

Police investigations are ongoing.
