Mauritania: Hassena Ould Ely is named SNIM

The Board of the National Industrial and Mining Company (SNIM), which exploits the Mauritanian iron ore, approved the appointment of Hassena Ould Ely as the general manager of the company, reports SNIM, which was accepted by APA on Friday.

Ould Ely, submitted by the Mauritanian Government to the Management Board, is replaced by Mohammed Salem Ould Bechir, who was appointed Prime Minister on October 30th.

By that time, since January 2016, he has been the Director General of the Nouakchott Autonomous Port, known as the Port of Friendship (PANPA).

Professor of Economics, the new Chief of SNIM was also Minister of Fisheries and Maritime Affairs (September 2008-August 2009), General Director of the Mauritanian Gas Company (September 2015- January 2016) and as the Executive Director of Mauritania Airlines (September 2009-September 2015).

He has a Degree of Advanced Studies (DEA) in Economic Analysis and Quantitative Methods of the University of Maine (France).
