"Wisting" – Jørn Lier Horst of "Wisting" stinks: – A leader who did not have control

Last week, Dagbladet talked about chaotic recording of the TV3 and Viaplay "Wisting" TV series, where a budget trick of at least 12 million NOKs went into production.

According to the production of the Cinenord series, about 600 people were involved. Dagbladet has been in contact with several participants in the past week, who are critical of how the company carried out the production of "Wisting", but nobody hopes to express itself in fear of losing future jobs.

Famous criminal Jørn Lier Horst owns the right to figure William Wisting. The TV series "Wisting" is based on two books written by "Hunting Dogs" and "Hulemannen". Horst also served as an advisor to the screenplay of the police screen as realistic as possible.

He is aware of the recording problems that happened on this path.

"I realize that there has been a budget overrun, which lasted less than a day in Larvik from the day of the shooting and that there were personnel swaps. At the beginning, the person was in the lead position in the recording administration, which has no control" said the author.

Does not comment on personal issues

In this case, Dagbladet anonymises the job description and the name of the person. The filmmaker submitted a statement to Horst, but he does not want to comment. Dagbladet was in contact with a company that previously recruited the current employee of Wisting. They say they were very satisfied with the work that the person did on other productions.

Responsible for Wisting, producer and general manager, Silje Hopland Oak in Cinenor, Dagbladet says he does not comment on personal matters.

As Dagbladet said on Saturday, this is part of what happened in the filming of "Wisting" and criticized:

• The excessive use led to a high budget speech of tens of millions of dollars, causing chaotic and inadequate working conditions.
• The production company is accused of incompetence.
• The workers considered that the wages were not paid in due time.
• Key people left the project: director, producer, production manager and photographer.

The cause of the problems was severe weather conditions, high ambitions, a challenging scenario, a disease and a strike, but not an inability, says Cinenord.

– Do not worry

There was excessive spending of money at the beginning of the Wisting. Cinenord admitted to Dagbladet that drastic moves and changes were artistic and practical.

Cinenord, among other things, said, according to general director Silja Hopland Eik "to simplify and tighten the script, film less on expensive locations and a lot of savings in the budget." In addition, the director, producer, photographer and production manager joined.

But Horst is not worried about how this could affect "Wisting".

"It is clear that such large projects are continuing, but I think the Chief Executive of Trygve Allister Diesen is able to handle it. I'm not worried about the series, and I've seen it look very good," says Horst.

Poor business economy

In January, Cinenor received more than NOK 50 million in the Norwegian Film Institute, created the "Wisting" and the "Everything for Norway" series. At the same time, the Cinenord AS 2017 accounts are marked by large debt and audit notes on "illegal shareholder loans" and "uncertainties associated with further business".

"Our support, Cinenord Kidstory and Cinenord Drama, have profits, but due to a lack of internal invoicing for project companies, the operating company Cinenord AS is unfortunately lacking in 2017, which is now fixed for 2018," said Hopland Eik for Dagbladet, adding:

– Using the company cards on my behalf until the productions are settled for 2017, but they were settled by settling the certificates now in 2018, when the project took place by the end of the year. No uncertainty is related to the further operations of the Cinenord Group.

Head of the Department for International Relations at the Norwegian Film Institute Dag Asbjørnsen states that Cinenord does not pay up to NOK 26 million in funds allocated to Wisting before the company has submitted an invoice for a project approved by the auditor.

"We will check the spending of money, and then 25 percent of the costs associated with recording in Norway will be refunded if Cinenord meets the requirements," says Asbjørnsen.

Dagbladet was in contact with the main roleplayer Sven Nordin, Thorild Strand, who does not want to comment on the video. Press director in Viaplay and TV3, Fredrik Olimb, also does not want to comment on the production work with "Wisting".
