Fianna Fáil TD described Eugene Murphy as "legalized human trafficking" as a direct provision.
In today's Dail, deputy Murphy said that the practice should end.
This is after the Ministry of Justice selected two hotels in Wicklow and Rooskey in Roscommon, which opened as direct support centers, as other centers are in full capacity.
Mr Murphy says that such accommodation for asylum seekers is not acceptable.
"There is a veil of secrecy on how this matter is being dealt with, and this is not good enough," said Taoiseach Leo Varadkar.
"We must end the direct offer, it's simply not about this.
"People in hotels, what's happening now in Wicklow and what's happening in Rooskey.
"If I'm honest, I think it's a legalized trafficking in human beings. That's right."
