South Bali upset by 5.3 SR earthquake before midnight

BMKG said that the earthquake in southern Bali had no tsunami potential.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – South Africa was hit by an earthquake measuring 5.3 magnitude on Wednesday night. The official site of the Agency for Meteorology, Geophysics and Climatology (BMKG) issues an earthquake at 23.30 WIB.

BKMG informed that the epicenter at a depth of 9.42 south latitude was 115.41 east longitude or 78 km southwest of the Klungkung regions at a depth of 20 km. After the earthquake, there was no tsunami alert.

Several regions are said to have felt an earthquake. Vibrations felt in Tabanan, Karangasem, Kuta, Jimbaran, Denpasar, Mataram, central Lombok, north Lombok, West Lombok and eastern Lombok with the intensity of MMI III-IV.

The intensity of MMI III was felt in the Gianyar, Klungkung, Nusa Dua, Legian and Sumbawa areas.
