India beat Australia by six wickets to reach the three-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series with a game to spare on the Sydney Cricket Ground Sunday. With 14 runs from the last over, Hardik Pandya finished the game with two sixes as India got over the line with two balls to the left. Shikhar Dhawan, chasing a total of 195, provided visitors with the perfect platform with a fast half-century. Dhawan has enough support from captain Virat Kohli (40) and KL Rahul (30). Shreyas Iyer, coming in at bat number 6, also contributed with a quick cameo.

Michelle Swepson was the bone of the bowlers for Australia. The leg-spinner picked up a wicket and took off only 25 runs.

Earlier, India won the toss and invited Australia to bat. Matthew Wade, stand-in skipper for the hosts, smashed a brisk half-century.

Wade smashed 10 boundaries and a six during his 32-ball beat.

Steve Smith made the momentum in the middle overs and scored 46 runs off 38 deliveries.

Late blooms from Marcus Stoinis and Moises Henriques propelled Australia to an imposing total of 194 for five of their 20 overs.

For India, T Natarajan was the bones of the bowlers. He returned with figures of two for 20 of his four-over spell.

Yuzhendra Chahal, player of the previous game, was taken to the cleaners by the Australian basmen.

The leg-spinner took off 51 runs from his four overs and picked up just one wicket.

Both teams will return to the same venue for the final T20I on Tuesday.
