The Greek borrowing of Greek banks rose in October in Greece

In October, the dependence of Greek banks on the liquidity of the Eurosystem, which includes direct borrowing from European Central Bank and ELA loans, increased in October.

According to the Bank of Greece, the overall dependence of Greek banks in October rose to 13.2 billion euros from 12.2 billion euros in September.

This development reflects an increase in loans from credit institutions of the ECB to 9.65 billion euros from 8.66 billion euros. In contrast, ELA's loans remained practically unchanged to 3.56 billion euros from 3.5 billion euros.
