One hundred trees in Smyrna in memory of the victims of the fire in Mother – Newsbeast

In memory of the victims of the deadly fire in Mati Atici, inhabitants of Smyrna Seferhisarja, one hundred trees were planted.

Greek Consul General in Smyrna Argyro Papoulias was also present at the event and thanked Mayor Septachisar, Tudor Soyer and citizens of the city for this initiative, according to a news agency Athens.

Papoulias recalled that in August 1999, the day after a devastating earthquake hit western Turkey, the EMAK team from Turkey helped Turkey settle the landing.

"I am pleased that so many self-governing and government officials on the banks of western Turkey, as well as ordinary citizens, have forgotten. They honor their neighbors and remember our casualties," Papoulias said.
