Woman and toddler crashed into central Alberta highway


A little boy was killed between two men when a car with a truck north of Rocky Mountain House, Alta, arrived late Wednesday morning, according to the RCP.

The police said the officer called a crash on Highway 756 at 11:30 am.

"The Preliminary Investigation revealed a car with two occupants was going on Highway 756, when it lost control and collected with an oncoming Southbound two-occupied truck," the RMMP said in a news release Wednesday night.

"Road conditions in the season are reported as slippery due to freezing rainfall in the area."

The 35-year-old woman driving the car and the four-year-old boy who was in the vehicle with her pronounced death at the scene. Police had both victims of Oshiesee's first nation.

Two people in the truck and the RCPC said they were hospitalized with minor injuries.

Police said no charges should be made in connection with the crash.

Rocky Mountain House is located over 220 kilometers southwest of Edmonton and about 220 kilometers north of Calgary.
