Explosives inject 3 people into northern Alberta oil and gas

Three workers were injured when an explosion occurred in a compressor building in an oil and gas industrial site in North West Alberta, the RCP said on Friday.

Police said the blast occurred west of Musreau Lake, Alta, and officers responded to the scene at about 2:30 pm.

"All three of these workers are transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries," said the RCP.

An investigation is now underway to decide what happened.

"There are no concerns about the safety of the public and don't expect travel delays as the incident occurred at a remote location," police said.

A spokesman from Alberta Occupational Health and Safety said a team of investigators had been sent to the scene but could not provide further information.

Lake Musaau is located over 85 kilometers south of Grand Prairie, Alta.
