One of the biggest names of Bulgarian football Ivan Vutsov died this morning, a flash tells his relatives. He left this world at 79 and left a lasting track as a footballer, coach and manager.
Ivan Vutsov was born December 14, 1939, in Gaboro. He began his career with local Yantra. From 1960 until 1969 he was in Leevsky, where he quickly appeared and became a leader. He was twice a champion (1965 and 1968), once triumphed with the Soviet army. Participant in the world finals with the team of Bulgaria in 1966 in England.
As a coach, he allowed Levski the title and Soviet army cap in 1979. Previously, he made a big boom in European tournaments headed by Blue, reaching a quarter-final for the UEFA Cup in March 1976. On his way to that success, Levski, under his control, eliminated Ajax and then retreated to Barca after 0: 4 and 5: 4.
As a coach, he ranked Bulgaria at the World Cup in Mexico in 1986.
He also served as the mentor of Spartak Varna, Slavia, Lokomotiv Plovdiv and Hajuck Split.
